My name is Joya Franken, and I am the face behind De Kattenvrouw.
I live in Wateringen with my boyfriend Nick, where we enjoy our cozy household with three cats—Timon, Truus, and Lola—and our dog Niya.

Cats have been my passion my whole life. I grew up surrounded by animals and knew from an early age that I wanted to work with them later in life.

In 2013, I graduated as a veterinary assistant. I now work as a freelance veterinary assistant in the Haaglanden region and, as a behavior therapist, I help cat owners to understand their cats (again).
